STRESS AT WORK




The condition known as stress is defined when a person feels unable to take on the challenges of everyday life; this is triggered mainly by an event of the personal or social life, causing a series of negative reactions in the body and is presented often at some point in our working life.

At some point you always come to believe that your work is the most stressful, but there are people dealing with very stressful and complicated situations throughout their working lives; there are those who sacrifice their family time, leisure hours and even his own life in exchange of a comfortable salary. This causes the dreaded workers stress.

Work stress is one of the most serious health problems affecting today's society because it hurts workers by reducing the discharge of their professional activities; it is also bad for employers and governments especially for the influence that the stress has on the economic development, due to the poor performance of their workers.
Stress can appear in any field of work and at any level, but often occur in state jobs because the workers are subjected to a heavy workload, difficult to handle, and that makes them feel devalued and a load of responsibility that ends up being very difficult to carry.

Surveys show that most workers suffer from stress because of their bosses who are constantly behind their backs trying to squeeze more and more out of them in order to maintain high profits.  This situation helps to increase the pressure on them.

There are some recommendations given by experts to combat work stress such as: Eat healthy and at certain times, avoid smoking and the excess of alcohol, keep a adequate schedule to rest and sleep, practice moderate sports such as golf or jogging, having a good physical shape helps your body and mind; organize your activities by establishing schedules, a good alternative to combat stress is to learn yoga sequences; this will help you relax and control your breathing and can be done from your desktop.

Always remember to respect the weekends as a leisure and relaxation time, leaving work and stress in the office. Take vacations once a year; remember to try to play sports such as golf. It’s not necessary to became a great player or to learn all the rules and golf terminology. The important thing is to get distracted and do some physical activity, there are different ways to spend weekends, Colorado has excellent entertainment activities for weekends; try visiting the Colorado golf courses and local Colorado ski resorts or any other activity that helps you forget the stress.
