FASHION DESIGNER INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

The world of fashion design is absolutely complicated, and you must demonstrate that you can actually handle stressful situations and meet the established deadline. You must also know about fashion trends-it is a certain way to test your level of knowledge- and why you've decided to immerse yourself in such a stressful yet rewarding world. This list contains possible questions that the interviewer may ask you. Since there is not a specific answer, we've opted to give you hints about each question.

Before going through a job interview there are certain things and aspects about your career you should think of.
Ask yourself the questions above so you are not taken by surprise during an interview. Some general questions listed below will help you get the whole picture of a Fashion Designer Job Interview:

What can you tell me about yourself?
Talk about how much you love fashion.

What motivates you?
Since you did some research on the company you are applying for, this question shouldn´t be a problem at all. Talk about the things you love doing that are the same characteristics the interviewer is expecting to hear.

Why would you like to work with us?
Some research needs to be done in order to answer this question. Learn about the pros that come along by working for this company and how the company meets some professional and personal interests you have as well as how you meet the company requirements and how your skills can be useful to the company.

What are your weaknesses and strengths?
This is definitely not about the weaknesses: it is about the strengths so you can start from there. Talk about some hard experiences you had, how you faced them.

Why are you leaving your current job?
Talk about the opportunities you think the company has to offer you and not about the things you didn´t like about your previous job. It is all about being positive. In case there was a serious problem that forced you to leave then you can talk about it but be careful with the words you pick when talking about that specific problem and look after your body language.

What are your hobbies?
Focus on the hobbies that do mean something interesting for an employer, such as reading, arts, sports, etc. Do not bring up unnecessary information.

How do you manage working with other people?
Talk about how much you love to contribute and share your experience and to learn from others.

What are your salary expectations?
Remember that before applying for a job it is mandatory to know what the salary range is. An informational meeting is always the best way to find out. You can play with this question by asking the interviewer how much the company would like to pay.
